A Hold Over Me

  • Jun. 21st, 2010 at 11:04 AM

Summary: Reality is sometimes a slippery thing. Or is it? Slash abstractions, Harry is 16, SS/HP.
Word Count: 740
Rating: M

The sound is little more than a murmured moan, lingering in the air as it stirs his consciousness. His voice is rough and thick with sleep, and for a moment he's not sure it's his own.

"Ungh..."

Ripples of arousal course through his body, beckoning his awareness, bending his will. The smooth slide of skin on skin overloads him with sensation for a third, or fourth, or twelfth time. It is what wakes him in the stillness of night, and not for the first time.

  • Apr. 26th, 2010 at 12:05 AM

Summary: Severus has a penchant for something he would prefer to keep secret from Harry. Established relationship, SS/HP.
Word Count: ~ 950
Rating: T

"Get out of those," Severus commanded, sweeping back into the room with an air of irritation. Inwardly he cursed himself for having left them in plain view.

Drawing his hand back as though Severus' words had struck him, Harry leaned up onto his elbows instead, craning his neck rather inelegantly in order to get a better look inside the bag. "Why, what are they?"

"Nothing you should be bothering with. Run along."

From Where I Am

  • Jan. 2nd, 2010 at 5:01 PM

Summary: Prior to leaving Hogwarts for Christmas break, Albus Severus Potter rediscovers a secret of the Room of Requirement. What he doesn't expect, however, is that the secret will forever change the holiday for himself -- and his father. Pre-slash, SS/HP.
Word Count: ~22,700
Rating: K+

Harry Potter gracefully wove his way through the throng of people around him, many of whom stopped talking to gaze at him as he approached or turned to clap him gently on the shoulder by way of a greeting. As he walked, Harry acknowledged them all with a friendly smile and a nod of his head, but clearly had a destination of his own in mind and kept to it resolutely. Only two in the crowd were bold enough to extend their hands, and smiled in relief and thinly-veiled awe when Harry proffered his own in return.

In the nineteen years since the demise of Voldemort, rare was the occasion that Harry could go somewhere in public without being recognized. He was well used to it by now, however. And King’s Cross was hardly the place to go if one wished to maintain a low profile, yet that is exactly where Harry found himself on a chilly December afternoon.

As he cleared the waiting crowd, a richly-timbred voice spoke somewhere off to his right.

“Potter.”

The voice was reminiscent of another and it stilled Harry’s body for the briefest of moments, as though his heart dared to hope. But as he turned to look over his shoulder, his eyes quickly mapped out the long-familiar – but gently aged – face of Draco Malfoy, and he scoffed internally at his willful sentimentality.

Measure of Comparison

  • Oct. 2nd, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Summary: Severus Snape and Harry Potter discuss the upcoming school year at Hogwarts. Written for the 100-word drabble challenge on Severus Sighs to celebrate the group's one year anniversary. Established relationship, SS/HP.
Word Count: 100
Rating: K+

"I'll be damned if I let another generation of Potters take over this school."

Harry laughed.

"If there's one thing our kids have in common…" Severus continued, arching an eyebrow and looking pointedly at Harry, "it's you."

Harry's grin widened. "I'll take that as a compliment."

Severus regarded his husband for a long moment. Then, softly, "You should."

Harry crossed his arms and leaned against Severus’ desk, eyes twinkling. "It’s your thirty-fifth anniversary, Professor. Think you can handle the third generation?"

Severus fashioned a put-upon sigh as his gaze heated. "Perhaps. If the second generation makes it worth my while."

The Unexpected Side Effect of Draught No. 9

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 9:03 PM

Summary: *WIP* After the war is over, Harry Potter feels restless and dazed by life. Who is he now if not The Chosen One? Help comes in the form of an unexpected friend, and an even more unexpected potion. Set after DH, slight AU, rated for eventual slash, SS/HP.
Word Count: 35,000+
Rating: M

The war was over and Voldemort was dead. While the celebrations and cautious optimism had spread to all corners of England – and beyond, no doubt – there was one young man left standing at the center of it all: The Chosen One.

And where once he had held a zest for life, a fearless sense of adventure, there now remained only confusion, exhaustion and loneliness. At times he felt a transient flood of happiness, of connection, as a friend or colleague shook his hand, pulled him into a hug or touched his arm reassuringly, but often that faded as quickly as it came.

Understandably, those around him were preoccupied with their families, possibly more protective now than ever, grateful that they were still alive themselves, not wanting to waste another minute with those they loved most. But being party to many and family to none, he felt like an outsider now, an echo of someone else’s life.

Undercurrent

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 9:01 PM

Summary: Severus Snape is known for his adventurous birthday presents for Harry Potter. Written for a theme night contribution on Severus Sighs and to commemorate Harry's birthday. Graphic slash, kink warnings, established relationship, NC-17, SS/HP.
Word Count: 2,687
Rating: M

“What is that?” Harry asked in what he hoped was a confident-sounding tone.

While it was true Severus had always been creative in the past with birthday presents – particularly the variety that occurred in their private bedchamber – something about the situation Harry now found himself in stirred up an excited nervousness in the pit of his stomach. He gulped as Severus approached the bed with a black, plastic carrying case.

Severus looked at Harry, who was struggling almost imperceptibly against the bonds around his wrists, and offered a self-satisfied grin in lieu of an immediate answer. As he sat down on the edge of the bed where Harry lay, he drifted a hand lazily up a bare calf.

Sparks Fly

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 8:59 PM

Summary: While on vacation in the U.S., Severus Snape and Harry Potter take in a fireworks display. Written in celebration of the 4th of July on Severus Sighs. Mild slash, SS/HP.
Word Count: 1,220
Rating: M

As the sun started to set, its waning light bathed the horizon in a rich blend of red and orange hues before it disappeared altogether, heralding dusk. White pinpricks twinkled across the seemingly endless expanse of sky above them; the moon, a mere sliver of light set against the inky blue backdrop of night.

With the sun's absence, the temperature grew crisp and the large crowd of people surrounding them pulled on sweatshirts or coats and huddled together under blankets.

Harry drew his arms up around himself as he leaned his body back against Severus' chest, feeling the long embrace of his lover encircle him.

Severus tilted his head down to whisper in Harry's ear.

Handing Out Detention

  • Aug. 28th, 2009 at 8:58 PM

Summary: Harry Potter decides it's about time he hands out a detention to Severus Snape. But does it get him what he wants? Written for a drabble challenge. SS/HP.
Word Count: 431
Rating: K+

“You are sending me where?” Severus didn’t bother hide the disbelief in his voice.

“Detention!” Harry beamed.

“Really, Potter. One would think that you had spent enough time in detention that you would have no desire to revisit it.”

“But it’s a bar. And they have Firewhiskey,” he called over his shoulder as he carried their valises towards the check-in counter.

“Hmm,” Severus said dubiously as he wandered into the small, dark room adjacent to the lobby.
